New discovery of the T-Rex dinosaur
Described in the latest issue of PeerJ magazine, the skeleton belongs to the great tyrant dinosaur Daspletosaurus.
' This animal obviously had to live a painful life with many wounds on his head, including some very serious wounds,' said study lead author David Hone from Queen Mary, University of London. in a press release.

'The biggest suspect in causing wounds is the same species of dinosaurs. This shows that there are already fierce battles between dinosaurs together. '
Daspletosaurus species lived in North America about 77 million years ago. The above-mentioned dinosaur victims are from Alberta, Canada today. When it dies, it only reaches adolescence, so its size is not fully developed. However, this is still a very large animal. It is about 6m long and weighs about 500kg.
The analysis showed that there were a lot of healing wounds on the skull of the terror. Hone explained that not all wounds are bites, but there are some traces that resemble the teeth of the tyrant dinosaur . A bite on the back of the head broke a part of the skull and left a hole in the shape of the teeth through the bone.
According to the researchers, changes in the skull surface indicate injuries that are not directly fatal.
However, the dinosaur didn't last long. The skull along with the jaw injury showed the dinosaur died prematurely and began to decompose. Soon after, a large tyrant dinosaur - likely the same species - grabbed the dead dinosaur, and probably ate some of its flesh.
The skeleton was uniquely analyzed in that it provided evidence for the battles between the same species of dinosaurs, and also the cannibalism.
T-Rex dinosaurs have relatives close to Daspletosaurus. Basically, they are cousins, and have the same adult size. Therefore, it is likely that T-Rex and other tyrant dinosaurs have similar behavior as Daspletosaurus./.
