Two islands are connected in Japan

The small island formed by volcanic activity in Japan in November, was connected to another nearby island.

Officials in the management and monitoring department of the volcanic island erupted said that it was conjoined at two points with an uninhabited volcanic island called Nishino-shima , belonging to the Ogasawara island chain ( Bonin), 1,000km south of Tokyo.

AFP said that the two craters on the island erupted at a frequency of 30 seconds to 1 minute each time, causing brown smoke columns to rise up to 100m high, while appearing gas from volcanoes and smoke white dust.

The small island formed by volcanic lava erupted on November 21. At this time, it is located about 200m from Nishino-shima island. The island has expanded more than 3 times the original size, with a width from east to west is 450m and from north to south is 500m.

According to geology professor Kenji Nogami of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, volcanic eruptions caused lava flows to constantly appear and form smoke and ash clouds. Submerged lava sources are also being erupted more and more.

Similar volcanic eruptions in the 1970s and 80s of the last century created many small islands in Japan. However, these islands have disappeared partially or completely.
