Vietnam stopped using 5 in 1 Quinvaxem vaccine
From April here, Vietnam will start using new 5 in 1 vaccines to prevent diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B and Hib for children, replacing the familiar vaccine of Quinvaxem of Korea. .
Vaccines replacing Quinvaxem will be used as a pilot from April to the beginning of the year and will be widely used from May 5, 2018.

The vaccine to replace Quinvaxem produced by India also meets the pre-inspection standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) similar to Quinvaxem. Before being licensed to circulate in Vietnam, this vaccine has also been used in more than 40 countries around the world with a total of over 400 million doses and achieved safety ratios according to WHO standards.
The National Expanded Immunization Project said that starting in April the new vaccine will be piloted in small scale in four provinces, which may be expanded in May.
Although the new vaccine has been used in many countries, the Immunization Project will deploy training and guidance nationwide thoroughly before putting it into widespread use.
Quinvaxem vaccine has been put into use in Vietnam for nearly 10 years, using injections for children at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th month of age and a very good vaccine that parents are concerned about because of the number of close injections. as most (every year, Vietnam uses nearly 5 million 5-in-1 vaccines, the majority of which is Quinvaxem).
In addition, there were some children who had severe reactions after this vaccination, in which, in 2017, there were 9 cases of reaction after Quinvaxem injection, 8/9 after using Quinvaxem and OPV, 1 case only use Quinvaxem.
