Vietnamese guy successfully built spacecraft into space

Flight equipment manufactured by Pham Gia Vinh successfully flew into the suburbs at a height of 23 km and prepared to test at a height of 30 km.

Here is the story of Pham Gia Vinh and the spaceship flying into space

This successful test, according to young author Pham Gia Vinh, will open up great opportunities in studying the high atmosphere, studying the environment, resources, telecommunications and defense.

From the ultimate passion

The name of Pham Gia Vinh is no stranger in the model airplane model in Vietnam. Vinh is the chairman of the Northern model airplane club with hundreds of models loved by young people.

However, few people know young man Pham Gia Vinh (born in 1983) is currently the director of Dong Giang Research & Development Joint Stock Company Vietnam - one of the few companies specializing in research and production of aircraft. unmanned in Vietnam . The company name is taken from Vinh's grandfather, Major General Vo Dong Giang, former Minister - Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Cooperation & Investment.

Well-known since he was a student of Electrical, Industrial Electronics - Automatic Control, Chairman of the Vietnam International Students Association in Rennes (France), Pham Gia Vinh still decided to return to Vietnam to implement the convention. dream to self-research and manufacture unmanned aircraft.

Vinh embarked on development of drones and unmanned aircraft. The first products were automatic and semi-automatic unmanned aircraft (M94, M96) for air defense training.

The idea of making a device that can fly is three to five times higher than a regular plane formed around the end of February 2014.

After presenting to a potential customer, they were ready to open the bid publicly. Dong Giang Company of Pham Gia Vinh has won a contract to produce and test flight equipment and accurate recovery systems for scientific research.

Although he knew that the world had similar equipment used in the field of experimental and experimental aeronautics and aerospace equipment, Vinh still decided to research to produce the 'Made in Vietnam' flying device. There are outstanding differences. The difference of air tools manufactured by Dong Giang is the ability to accurately recover the equipment after completing the test, avoiding misplacement and reducing the cost of searching, recovering, and keeping the measuring equipment safe. expensive installation inside.

Observe the earth from a height of 23km

In just over half a year, Pham Gia Vinh and his colleagues have successfully built a flying device weighing 600kg, with a ceiling of 30 to 50km, the flight time can be up to a week.

Dr. Vu Quoc Huy, Deputy Head of the Department of Aeronautics & Aerospace Engineering, Institute of Motive Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that there are only a few countries in the world possessing technology to develop flying instruments with ceiling flying over 30 km such as USA, France, Japan, Spain, India .

If Vietnam can produce drones with a ceiling of over 30 km, it will be a big step in aerospace science research.

Economically, if produced in the country, this device will certainly have lower cost than imported products of the same type.

In the early days of the year, Vinh silently brought instruments to go abroad to try. He collaborated with a Singapore-based technology company, the country's university and research institute to conduct the first test flight.

In addition to flying test equipment, Pham Gia Vinh also collaborated with a hospital in Singapore to experiment on white mice to check the cell level change in the near space environment to proceed to make medicine.

" In this flight test, we have combined with your country's research center to bring 3 mice to experiment in a cosmic environment ," Pham Gia Vinh said.

In the first test, Vinh's products have reached 80% of requirements and are highly appreciated by partners and customers. In particular, the flight ceiling of this device reaches 23 km with a radius of 150 km for 7 hours.

Pham Gia Vinh said that this height was far beyond the range of existing civil aircraft in the world market.

" In the next few weeks, we will continue to test the higher range with the goal of overcoming the 30 km ceiling ," the young director shared about the new plan.

The biggest advantage in Vinh's product is the control of the landing position of the landing compartment. This makes his company win in international bidding projects.

The product of Pham Gia Vinh has the ability to accurately recover the device after completing the test.

If the same products of some other companies in the world can only be recovered using support, this product can recover the landing chamber relatively accurately.

" We can control the landing gear within 50km - 80km with an error of less than 50m. Therefore, the landing zone will not affect people, houses, and underground structures, also. like recovering expensive research equipment , "Pham Gia Vinh explained about this new feature.

Great opportunity for the space technology industry

This flying device, according to Pham Gia Vinh, can be used in many fields, from serving national security to civilian purposes, scientific research.

With a range of 30 to 50 km, this device allows the implementation of medical and environmental experiments, studying the high atmosphere of the earth. From that height, the flying device can send data, multi-spectral images directly to the scene. Scientists can understand the water source, the greening of the soil, and observe the pathogen of the plant.

This flying device can also carry observing devices, study cosmic rays and carry research equipment in the cosmic environment. The instrument can also test satellite devices (cameras, antennas, radar .) before integrating and bringing it to space.

At a height of about 30 km, this device will help scientists easily observe, study the formation and path of storms. The advantage of this device can transfer data faster than satellites by sending images collected directly to the earth.

In the field of information security, when a satellite fails, it can use a flying device such as a receiving and broadcasting station for a week to repair. In addition, aircraft can make radar systems for Defense and scientific research.

In addition, flying devices can carry cameras to capture high-resolution images transmitted to Earth. A wide-angle photograph can cover 50 x 50 km, equivalent to the area of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces. Narrow-angle photos taken from high-resolution flying instruments help show details under 10 cm.

" Shooting from this height can observe the shoes someone forgot on the street ", Pham Gia Vinh is confident.

During the last test at a height of 23 km, this flying device helped Vinh to see the curve of the Earth, seeing the boundary between the dark part of the dance and the bright earth rim.

When the device was brought back, Vinh watched high-resolution photos " eye- catching".

" In the past, I could only see those images via television, or online but now I can see them directly by my own device. Happiness, happiness, no words can happen ", Pham Gia Vinh shared.

Some say he is the second Vietnamese who can observe the earth directly after hero Pham Tuan.

Desire to use in Vietnam

The young director affirmed that the device is much cheaper than aircraft and satellites, so it is suitable for Vietnam's economic conditions.

" This technology, I think we need to have it. That's why, I am determined to go back to the country. If implemented in practice, Vietnam will be the first country in Southeast Asia to apply this technology. " .

The talented young director also expressed his willingness to cooperate with the authorities and technology corporations in Vietnam to develop flying products for military and people's life.
