Yahoo-Motorola brings the Internet to customer pockets

Yahoo announced to join hands with Motorola to accomplish its goal

Yahoo announced a deal with Motorola to achieve its goal of "bringing the Internet to customers' pockets" and to face a new battle between search giants.

Accordingly, Motorola's new mobile products will be integrated with Yahoo's new service software.

Yahoo Vice President Connected Life Marco Boerries, together with Motorola President Ed Zander, introduced the first Motorola handsets to integrate Yahoo Go 2.0 service software. With this software, users only need to press one key to access the Internet.

However, if you use a mobile phone that is compatible with Yahoo Go 2.0, start yesterday (8/1), users will be able to download this software to install for their device from Yahoo's website.

Mr. Boerries said that by the end of this year, there will be about 400 lines of Yahoo Go-compatible mobile phones available on the market, because Yahoo has not only joined hands with Motorola, but it has joined hands with both Nokia, Samsung and SALTED.

Yahoo's goal to work with mobile network providers and service providers is to develop a "oneSearch" service and simplify mobile Internet access. Yahoo hopes Internet access is as easy as accessing the Internet on a desktop computer, Boerries said.

Yahoo Go is part of Yahoo's oneSearch service development program.

" Yahoo oneSearch will change the entire mobile search by further improving the way to access and use the Internet on mobile phones ," Boerries said.

With oneSearch devices, users will enjoy a wide range of services such as satellite navigation, Internet search, video sharing, as well as a range of other Internet utilities.

" That's really the Internet in the customer's pocket ," Boerries remarked. " It will be a milestone marking the first time the Internet is fully compatible with a user's mobile phone ."

New mobile war

" Getting customer support is a top priority for Yahoo this year. However, we also see it as a new battle in the mobile Internet ," Boerries said.

The Internet search giant Google yesterday announced a deal with Samsung to confront the Yahoo-Motorola alliance.

Accordingly, Samsung's product lines will be integrated with new Google software applications, allowing users to connect to the Internet to search, browse email and find their way online. Ultra Edition 13.8 is Samsung's first product to go this way. It is considered " the first Google cellphone in the world ".
