Yesterday afternoon (April 13), the Organizing Committee of VIFOTEC Science and Technology Awards held a press conference to announce the "Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award" for 35 outstanding works and the 2008 WIPO Award. .
VIFOTEC Science and Technology Award aims to honor scientists who go into research and application of modern and scientific and technological achievements that are suitable for production and life. This is the VIFOTEC award for the 14th consecutive year.
According to the Organizing Committee, among 100 participating projects, 35 excellent projects have been selected in 6 areas: Automation mechanics; Biology for production and life; Information technology, electronics and telecommunications; Technology to protect the environment and rational use of resources; Material technology; Technology to save energy and use new energy.
According to the organizers, the field of informatics is slightly worse than the other five areas. The criterion is that buildings must aim at a wide range of practical and special applications that can cater to remote, border and island areas. The prize structure has 2 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 12 third prizes and 13 consolation prizes.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will award certificates of merit to 8 outstanding individuals who have won the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award to contribute to the cause of national construction.
At the same time, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) also awarded the WIPO noble award to 4 businesses and individuals who have made many contributions. Detail:

The awards ceremony will be held at the Opera House on the evening of April 15, 2009 and Radio by Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Fund for Technical Innovation. Vietnamese television will report live on VTV2 channel.
