Yesterday, during a meeting with the Buddhist Clergy at Phmom Penh, Hunsen said, he sent an order to the Minister of Communications requesting that the ministry stop all distribution and use of 3G phones in country. He said, " We can wait 10 years, until we manage complex issues caused by 3G phones ."
Hunsen said his wife sent him a petition against the widespread use of a new generation of phones that the people used to spread pornographic images and videos in the Buddhist country.
The first 3G mobile network service in Cambodia was officially launched in early 2006, but in fact only a small number of Cambodians have enough financial resources to use this advanced mobile service.
