China launches the world's first female virtual radio announcer

China continues to make notable strides in making its new broadcasters obsolete.

On February 19, Xinhua News Agency announced a partnership with search engine Sogou to create the world 's first female virtual radio announcer . Named as Tan Tieu Manh , this virtual announcer will officially broadcast on Chinese television in March.

The virtual female announcer runs with the world's first artificial intelligence (AI).

About 3 months ago, Xinhua had surprised the Internet by launching the male virtual broadcaster run by the world's first AI at China's annual Internet Conference in November 2018.

Xinhua and Sogou said that they have also developed and improved a male virtual announcer who can speak and act more soulfully.

In recent years, Xinhua aspires to use and AI into communication work. They created a robot reporter, interviewing Wired magazine expert and co-founder Kevin Kelly in Hefei in 2017.

However, this reporter robot is quite fiddling with many questions Kelly posed, sometimes taking 10 seconds to answer and limit himself to words that include only 1 or 2 words, not even mean means.

Going back to the virtual broadcast series of Xinhua News Agency - they enthusiastically took on their role since the launch also announced about 3400 newsletters in a time span of over 10,000 minutes.
