Discover new species of toad in Vietnam

Australian and Vietnamese scientists have discovered and announced a species of toad in Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park in Central Vietnam plateau in the journal Zootaxa 2796: 15–28 (2011).

This is also a new record of the distribution of Leptolalax in the South.

The new species is distinguished from other species in the same species thanks to its characteristics: the dark reddish-brown abdomen with white spots on the throat, the underside of the arms and legs; the iris has two colors, the upper half is red copper and the lower half is reddish gray; nearly smooth skin without skin folds; The tibia is relatively short.

Currently, this new species is recorded in evergreen forests , at an altitude of 1620–1730 m above sea level.

The species being recommended is added to the missing data of the IUCN Red Book.
