Intel reduced 50% of the price of quad-core chips

Intel has officially reduced the price of a range of processor chips for laptops and desktop PCs. However, the price reduction this time is not as the previous forecast of analysts.

Accordingly, the price of quad-core 2.4GHz Core 2 Quad Q6600 chip is reduced to 50%, to 266 USD. Meanwhile, the 2.66GHz Q6700 chip is currently sold for 530 USD. These are the two chips with the highest price reduction this time.

Other products also listed on this list are not discounted. For example, the price of a Core 2 Duo E4400 chip can only be reduced by 15% to $ 113. Pentium E2140 chip dropped to 71 USD - equivalent to 4% discount. 39% is the price cut in this round of Celeron D347 chip. The price of this chip after falling is only 34 USD.

Celeron M 520 and 530 mobile chips enjoy a discount of up to 20%, currently priced at 86 USD and 107 USD respectively. The Celeron M 540 chip is currently priced at 134 USD.

Meanwhile, the price of this 2GHz Core 2 Duo E4500 chip only dropped to 1 USD to 133 USD.

Intel's price cut is a step in preparation for the launch of the 1333MHz system bandwidth to support this. The price of the new chip is expected to be lower than the 1066MHz Core 2 Duo E6x00 chip. This is a sign that Intel wants to speed up the application of new chips to replace existing chips in the market.
