Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, director of VIAMI Software Joint Stock Company, offers some mistakes that businesses often make when choosing IT solutions, which are: over-emphasis on hardware, and software can be used crack or copy; They are 'brand name' without exploiting their functions: most suppliers still have to actively present about products but enterprises have not actively proactively asked for a solution; neglect or underestimate the role of advice, considering that this is a supplier's duty. Many opinions in the forum said that IT enterprises themselves are also an enterprise, they are also under the management of the Enterprise Law. Moreover, competition in the IT sector is even more fierce than other fields. Therefore, IT enterprises are under pressure on process improvement and stronger IT application. The prerequisite is that the idea must be rooted in leadership and must have the determination of the entire leadership team, even, there must be members of the company leadership to participate in the project of implementing IT applications.

The issue of implementing ERP applications in enterprises has also been interested by many delegates and asked questions: Is there an ISO and is it easier to implement ERP? Mr. Vuong Quan Ngoc, FPT's representative shared, ' ISO is a standard. ERP is also a standard type. But, ERP requires a lot higher than ISO. ISO can do it step by step but ERP is not possible because the interrelationship is very large, just one stage that cannot be deployed will affect the whole project. However, if ISO has been implemented, the enterprise will be more advantageous when implementing ERP because it is familiar with the processes '.

However, Mr. Quang and VIAMI emphasize that ERP is just a tool to support the management and administration of enterprises. Businesses should not expect too much on the implementation of ERP to help improve the business situation, reduce personnel. When selecting an ERP solution, it is important to consider the effectiveness of the solution. The implementation process will also have costs incurred, businesses need to determine this is a type of investment costs.

The role of IT leadership (CIO) in IT projects is essential. This issue is also much discussed at the forum. However, according to the general assessment, the concept of CIO in Vietnam is not clearly defined. Enterprises often have a director (or deputy director) in charge of IT and a head of the informatics department.

But, there is a contradiction that the head of the informatics department is very good but often not involved in planning IT policies while the director / deputy director in charge of IT often has no thing. Lawsuits against IT applications are too busy.

The general idea at the forum is that enterprises, including IT enterprises, still need a person to take the main responsibility in this field.
