Limit the removal of axillary leaf tumors, reduce the risk of breast cancer
Early-stage breast cancer patients with a small amount of lymphoma are removed like those who undergo larger surgery.
A study published in the journal of the American Journalism Association on February 8 showed that early breast cancer patients with a small amount of lymphoma were removed like those who underwent greater surgery.
The researchers analyzed data of women with metastatic breast cancer to a nearby lymphoma, and studied the survival rate among those who had first removed the lymphoma (or referred to as guarded lymphoma) compared with those who removed many axillary lymph nodes (also called lymph node removal in the armpit - ALND.)
The results show that strengthening ALND is not conducive to controlling the removed area, the remaining areas are not infected or overall survival, and ALND is no longer a solution for patients.
According to the study, implementing this habit change will improve the situation of thousands of women every year by reducing the variables associated with ALND and improving the quality of life when the survival rate is high. .
Scientists conducted research on 891 patients in California (USA) between 1999 and 2004. They found that the survival rate of those who rarely used surgical intervention was 92.5% compared with 91.8% of patients who abuse the removal of lymph nodes.
