McAfee provides a service to prevent data loss

Security software company McAfee, on October 16, began offering a data loss prevention service after spending $ 20 million to buy Onigma.

Onigma's software is equipped with technology that enables monitoring, reporting and prevention of unauthorized data transfer tasks from within and outside the organization. McAfee will integrate this technology into their new service called McAfee Data Loss Prevention.

The goal of this new service is to protect sensitive data from being "cut and pasted", captured on a screen (captured) or encrypted, while preventing unauthorized data transfer tasks. via laptop.

McAfee Data Loss Prevention is designed to protect against the risk of data loss from non-Windows devices and will work with Web security tools / E-mail Secure Internet Gateway.

This is McAfee's second deal this month. Prior to the acquisition of Israeli software firm Onigma, McAfee spent $ 60 million to merge with Citadel Security. In June this year, the "big man" in the security village also announced it had plans to buy Preventsys.
