Microsoft's latest announcement said it will release a trial version of high-end VoIP solutions later this month, including: Office Communications Server 2007; VoIP and server communication unified; Office Communicator 2007; and unified communication client.
In a speech at the 2007 March 7 VoiceCon Spring Conference, Jeff Raikes, president of the Microsoft business department, predicted that in just the next three years, the average cost of a business VoIP solution would be one. half of it is now because VoIP systems are moving from hardware to software.
Jeff Raikes also predicts that over that time, about 100 million people - twice the number of business customers using VoIP today - will make calls from Microsoft Office applications.
Next time, VoIP technology based on integrated software for Microsoft Office Communications Server and Microsoft Office Communicator will provide more value and help save costs for businesses - judging by Jeff Raikes.
