On October 19, Netscape released the latest version of Netscape 8 browser with updated security patches.

The version of Netscape 8.0.4 is updated and fixes security bugs based on the security flaws of Mozilla's open source Firefox browser. This means that Netscape has been updated to correct every error like the version of Firefox 1.0.7 released last month.

The new Netscape browser version had a total of 9 security holes, including errors in the browser method of handling international domain names that use international characters. Hackers can take advantage of this vulnerability to execute malicious code to take control of the user's computer.

This is Netscape 8's fifth bug fix since the browser launched in May this year.

Netscape 8 is a 'hybrid' browser. This browser uses Firefox's Gecko replication engine to recreate the site. However, the browser engine will immediately be converted into Internet Explorer engine if the website is not displayed correctly on the screen.
