Pumps thanks to ... wind power
The sun and wind are unfavorable in the Central region, but a resident of Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province, turned that disadvantage into usefulness, when making the water pump only works by wind.
The sun and wind are unfavorable in the Central, but a resident of Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province, has turning that disadvantage into useful, when making the water pump only works by wind.
The idea of exploiting the power of wind was in Mr. Pham Ma Nhi from the past three years.
According to his design drawing, a water pipe is installed from the raceways to the device. When it is windy, the fan rotates, water from the bottom of the raceway will be pumped up. 1 meter long rotor turned the wind into force to pump water. Through testing, the pump can pump water from boreholes 7 meters deep.
Currently, Mr. Nhi is considering solutions to improve the quality of the water pump but still lower the price. Expected to be produced at a cost of about 2 million VND each. The product will be really helpful before requiring saving water at farms or windy year-round fields.
