>>>Soybeans - Precious remedy

This is the conclusion of two studies on high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease of students and scientists at Columbia University (USA), presented at an international cardiovascular workshop on March 25.

The first study showed that with medications, high blood pressure patients could control their blood pressure readings if they ate a certain amount of raisins a day.

Scientists have conducted clinical trials to accurately assess the benefits of raisins for those who have recently detected high blood pressure - with blood pressure index fluctuating between 120 / 80mm Hg and 139 / 89mm Hg.

The results showed that after 12 weeks of implementation, compared with those who ate biscuits, the group ate raisins had a sharp decrease in blood pressure. Some cases have reduced the maximum blood pressure index, also called systolic pressure, to 7%.

According to Harold Bays, director of Louisville Research Center for Atherosclerosis and Metabolism, high levels of potassium in raisins are important factors in lowering blood pressure. It is also a good component of antioxidant dietary fibers that can effectively regulate the biochemical characteristics of blood vessels, making them smoother, thereby reducing blood pressure.

A handful of about 60 raisins contains 1g of fiber and 212mg of Potassium. For a long time raisins have often been recommended by doctors as part of a diet with a high, low fat content to lower blood pressure.

The second study on soybean found that daily intake of these types of nuts such as tofu, soy milk and other products from peanuts and green tea also reduced blood pressure.

This study was conducted in 1985, analyzing data on the eating habits of high blood pressure patients.

People who use at least 2.5mg of isoflavone or more per day, an important ingredient in soybeans, have much lower systolic blood pressure than those who only take about 0.33mg of this substance into the body. .

According to this study, a cup of soy milk contains about 22mg of isoflavone, nearly 10 times the amount needed to be absorbed by the body every day to work.

Scientists say eating soy products is an effective way to help people with blood pressure rise slightly from normal to control the course of the disease without their support.

The mechanism to promote effectiveness in reducing blood pressure of soybean and isoflavone is to promote the activity of enzymes that produce nitric oxide to expand blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

From these studies, the advice of researchers for middle-aged people is to maintain a diet that focuses on raisins and soy products, balancing work and rest.
