NowPos has become the first Indian company to make the list of the top 20 broadband companies in Asia-Pacific ranked by global research firm Frost & Sullivan after releasing free vMail service. .
To use vMail, people only need to register for services at NowPos. In the composition, press the Record button, use the headset with the microphone and start recording what you want to say. After completing the message, people will click the Append button to attach the file to the e-mail. The recipient (not necessarily a vMail account) will see a "Click here to listen to the vMail" link (Click here to hear the message from vMail). This service seems to attract many users due to its new, attractive and high sound quality.
The mailbox has a capacity of 1.6 GB and a maximum length of 3 minutes per letter. The vMail interface is as easy to use as a text messaging service and will likely challenge the existence of today's popular e-mail.
Ayyappa Nagubandi, Director of NowPos, said vMail is the first service in the world that does not require people to download or install compatible software (plug-in). The company's profits are now mostly from advertising and in the near future, they will charge a certain fee for those who do not want to hear the ad before listening to their e-mail.
NowPos also plans to launch voice blogging applications, voice news and voice ATM in the next few months.
