The surgery, conducted on the night of July 10, lasted for 15 hours under the direction of renowned plastic surgeon Pedro Cavadas.

They paired both legs for a man, who had previously been removed from both lower limbs above the knee due to a traffic accident.

This is the first time this type of surgery has been carried out, because people who previously had their legs removed at a position below the knee are often assigned to use prosthetic instead of joint surgery.

However, because the aforementioned patient was severely disconnected at the foot, the method of using the prosthetic foot was not effective.

According to Rafael Matesanz, Director of the Spanish transplant surgery organization, leg graft surgery is more complicated than hand grafting because the number of leg muscles in the leg is more than at hand, as well as taking into account the overall resistance. Body weight of legs after transplantation.

Although the surgery was successful, it is still early to talk about the effectiveness of this unique transplant, as the patient has to undergo a recovery process that can last from several months to several years.

Mr. Pedro Cavadas is the leading surgeon in Spain. He is well known around the world for his success in partial face, lower jaw and tongue transplants as well as the first successful pairing of both hands for a patient in 2006.
