Young Vietnamese boy Nguyen Mai Duc has completed a top-notch application and a book of national distribution

Sharing with us, Nguyen Mai Duc once said that " when I was not in the UK, I used to sell goods to earn money in grade 7, teach magic to make money from 8th grade and teach English from the 10th grade. We all have enough skills, even though I am not yet 18 years old ".

Reporter: Hi Mai Duc, I know that although my age is quite young, Mai Duc is now the author of a famous mobile application. Can I share the content of this application?

The new " IELTS Exam Preparation " mobile app has been launched recently and supports iOS and Android users . It is a mobile handbook for candidates who are taking IELTS preparation. The application includes basic knowledge, skills, common errors and corrections, practical exercises, tips before and during the IELTS exam. In addition, the application also includes images, vivid videos and attractive gifts for users.

Reporter: That means Mai Duc is not a professional programmer, so how do you make this application available?

Actually developing a mobile application is a passion that I have cherished for a long time. I started with writing the book " IELTS Exam Handbook " first to hone the skills of presenting content and conveying knowledge professionally. After that, with the skills already available, I went online to search for ways to program mobile apps, go to online forums, watch videos on YouTube. I also contacted some programming experts in the US to ask for their technical assistance. And they guided me very enthusiastically.

Reporter: Does Mai Duc's application receive any support from investors? What are the difficulties you have encountered?

My application is funded exclusively by Thai Duong Vietnam Co., Ltd. But before I received the investment, I had to apply for funding for about 7 education companies. There are 3 companies that agree to sponsor, in which 1 company does not sponsor completely. In order to receive sponsorship, I also have to do a contract with them and follow their requests in terms of content, insert logos, .

But the most memorable is the time I went to find a sponsor for my first book. Because in addition to the application, I also produced a book " The IELTS Exam Manual " quite stabbed. Initially, I went to look for 10-11 book companies to finance publishing expenses. Some companies didn't answer, some refused, some were incomplete. There was a company that agreed to sponsor her completely but ended up abruptly canceling the contract, just before she went to England. At that time, I was frustrated and sad, but still determined to publish books.

Besides finding investors, one of the biggest difficulties for me is the lack of experience. I remember one evening when I finished writing the application and was checking for spelling, a technical error occurred and all the data I did was lost. At that time I had to do everything from the beginning and this took a lot of time and effort.

Reporter: If you have a self-assessment of your application, what do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of Mai Duc? Do you have any plans with this application in the future?

The point of the application is that it is designed in Vietnamese, language is close and easy to understand. It is based on my experience - someone who has taken IELTS and has been involved for many years with this English exam. In addition, images, videos and websites illustrated in the application are also very rich and useful.

However, I think the application needs more exercises and practical examples so that users can interact directly on the device. Therefore, in the coming time, I will listen to feedback, comments from users to launch updates.

Reporter: So before you can produce an IELTS preparation book and a mobile application, has Mai Duc ever tried a different job?

I have tried many times with my business since I was young. I started selling magic props to earn my own money in 7th grade, taught magic from 8th grade, taught English since 10th grade. I used to teach general English and IELTS for students in grade 1.2. , 3 and university.

In addition, I am also collaborating with a number of newspapers and computer forums. So far, he has released more than 400 articles, mainly on science, technology, mobile devices, education and English issues.

During my time in the UK, I tried my role as a video producer because this is also my passion. I created my own YouTube channel and made videos related to many areas such as technology, economics, politics, comedy, touching and music. My videos are well received and supported by everyone.

Reporter: What is Mai Duc's true passion? Which subject will you study? What are Mai Duc's plans in the future?

My real passion is creativity and hard work. I never let my age limit what I do. I always want to experience new things, try to do the untrained work in my life. When I go to college, I will choose one of two journalism or marketing. Her future plan is to go to university, masters and work in many countries around the world to experience and improve the life experience and work experience. After that, depending on my situation, I can stay abroad to live or return to Vietnam.

Reporter: Mai Duc has a girlfriend?

I have it. You and my girlfriend have been in love for almost 4 years. This year is the second year that we each have a heavenly way. But our love is still like a new day because we both understand each other, often talk and share difficulties in life.

Reporter: Family, friends and girlfriends, what is the biggest source of encouragement for me all the time?

Family, friends and girlfriends are important to me and great sources of encouragement. The family gave me useful advice and future directions when I had to stay away from home and live independently. Friends and girlfriends are people whom I find when I feel tired and stuck in life. In general, I feel very lucky that I have great spiritual fulcrum.

Reporter: After the achievements, plus the time to study and live in the UK, Mai Duc can give advice to young people in Vietnam?

Through my experience, I think that young Vietnamese should actively seek help rather than sitting and waiting for others to come and support. Young people are often easy to fall in love with, so we have to get used to the criticism of the crowd. According to my own experience, age is not proportional to success, 18, 20 or 30 years old does not matter. It is important that they know the opportunity and not give up at all costs.

Of course, young people should be a bit adventurous, money is secondary, most importantly, building relationships for the future, learning more about the experience. Especially for young people in Vietnam, if we want to be successful, we have to lessen the virtual life, don't be paranoid, think wisely before making any decisions. If possible, spend more time with family and people around.
