According to the official, 10 rice varieties are being grown on two acres of land and studies will focus on developing rice varieties that the Government of Vietnam has chosen to suit the acidic land of Brunei.

According to a press release from the Department of Agriculture and Food Products under MIPR, based on the feasibility study, rice varieties selected at this workshop will be widely planted on a large scale in the next season in four districts. Wasan area to assess the suitability of rice varieties in rainy areas.

The department also expressed hope that the results from these studies will contribute to the increase of domestic rice production in order to achieve rice self-sufficiency goals, enhance the country's food security.
