Green tea and coffee help reduce diabetes risk
People who regularly drink green tea or coffee reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes compared to those who do not use the two drinks.
Research results have just been published by Australian scientists who claim that people who regularly drink green tea or coffee can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes compared to those who do not use these two drinks.
Researchers at the University of Sydney, Australia have compiled data of 18 studies with the participation of more than 450,000 people from 1966 to 2009 on the relationship between the two drinks mentioned above with diabetes, of which 6 studies related to caffeine removed and 7 studies on green tea.
The results showed that taking a cup of coffee a day reduced the risk of diabetes by about 7%.
Even coffee drinkers who drink 3 to 4 cups a day can reduce their risk of developing this dangerous disease by 25% to more than 30% compared to those who don't drink or drink only 2 cups a day.
Green tea also produced similar results, those who drank 3 to 4 cups of tea a day could reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes compared to those who did not drink tea.
From this study, scientists recommend that people at risk of diabetes should regularly drink green tea or coffee, combined with increased exercise and a diet to reduce scales./.
