Microsoft also agreed with the China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to invest $ 200 million in software companies in the country through cooperation and joint ventures.

"The NDRC will support Microsoft to expand its investment in Chinese software, strengthen technical, training, software, hardware and outsourcing cooperation within the next five years ," Microsoft's statement.

The signing ceremony of the memorandum was made a day after Microsoft and Lenovo Group (China) officially committed to installing Windows operating system on Lenovo-made computers in China.

The investment agreement is an important step in an effort to counter the widespread Microsoft software piracy in China, which is estimated to cost up to $ 1.2 billion per year. .
