The two firms refused to disclose details of the terms of the agreement. However, Microsoft said it also has to pay LG and MicroConnect a license fee related to the computer system. And LG must pay royalties related to embedded Linux device technology for Microsoft.

The agreement with LG is another proof that Microsoft is still trying to build a bridge of cooperation in the field of technology copyright in the IT industry, Mr. Horacio Gutierrez - Vice President of Finance Microsoft intellectual property and licensing - said.

In recent years, Microsoft has frequently signed copyright agreements with companies such as Novell, Samsung, NEC, Fuji-Xerox, Seiko-Epson, Nortel or most recently with Xandros.
