Mozilla left 80% of bugs in Firefox 3 Beta open

Mozilla said it would not fix 80% of the bugs discovered in the Firefox 3.0 Beta version, but pledged to fully fix it in the official version due to be released next year.

Along with the release of Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 Mozilla encourages software experts to quickly identify the true security flaws that need to be overcome. It is estimated that only about 20% of the errors will be fixed.

The content of an internal meeting of Mozilla's Firefox 3.0 development process said that there have been about 700 errors discovered in Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 so far. These errors are listed as 'blocker'.

' That's really a huge number. We are currently asking all parties to work together to re-evaluate the risk of the error to determine what errors need to be fixed in Beta 2. We will work hard to do our best in 4 next week '.

' With Firefox 3.0 Beta 3 we will take the same steps. This means that 80% of the above 700 errors will not be fixed in Firefox 3.0 test versions. We insist that only serious errors will be fixed. If necessary, we will release one or two more test versions . '

However, the above solution only applies to errors that affect the user's browsing experience. By default, security errors will automatically be included in the dangerous list and must be fixed.

Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 was officially released last week, but so far Mozilla has not revealed anything about the 'post-Beta 1' plan. It is expected that Mozilla will release on two beta versions of Firefox 3.0 before releasing an official version next year.
