This conference will have an open workshop on nuclear power with the participation of domestic and foreign nuclear power experts as well as some overseas Vietnamese people who have many years working in the field. Nuclear power to discuss the implementation of nuclear power projects and the ability to cooperate to help, share information and experience in the field of nuclear power.

According to the Director of Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission Vuong Huu Tan, the past two years, the research, development and application of nuclear energy in our country has many remarkable progress. The Atomic Energy Law was passed by the National Assembly in June 2008 and the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project was approved in July 2009 and is expected to be passed by the National Assembly in October .

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien wished that, in addition to announcing and discussing S&T results, new research projects in the field of atomic energy, scientists need to spend time discussing and discussing export targets for scientific and technological activities, contributing to the development and completion of science and technology research programs in the field of atomic energy from now to 2020.

" The scientists present at this conference will spend a reasonable time discussing and discussing the cooperation between the domestic agencies, cooperating with foreign institutions and research institutes, aiming to enlist the help of international organizations, scientists including Vietnamese scientists residing abroad and the help of countries, especially industrialized countries advanced nuclear, "said Vice Minister Tien.

The National Center for Nuclear Medicine and Military Radiotherapy project will be launched in early September 2009. Two cyclotron accelerators at the Hanoi Institute of Science and Technology and Cho Ray Hospital have been operating. The cyclotron centers in Da Nang and Kien Giang are actively being deployed to be operational soon. Radiotherapy devices were also newly invested in Hanoi Cancer Hospital, Can Tho Hospital .

Varieties of radioactive mutant crops have been used by farmers and expanded their cultivated area. Important industries such as oil and gas, shipbuilding, cement, transportation and construction have used nuclear techniques to serve production and improve productivity, product quality and operational efficiency. Basic research continues to be maintained and developed, creating conditions for building a team and a basis for sustainable development of the atomic energy industry.
