Seiko introduced high-resolution electronic paper

Japanese electronics firm Seiko Epson has developed an electronic paper screen (e-paper) with a resolution of 1,536 x 2,048 pixels, arguably the highest in the world today.

The screen is the same size as A6 size paper, 7.1-inch diagonal and uses SUFTLA technology, allowing thin-film transistors (TFTs) to move easily in the plastic substrate. In addition, Seiko Epson products also include flexible memory chips that can flex according to the screen.

This high-resolution E-paper is partly designed based on the technology of E Ink (USA). Last year's Seiko Watch division also sold a wristwatch with electronic paper screens, but smaller and did not display animations as new products.

Electronic paper is a major area of ​​research not only for screen makers. They are made of paper-thin plastic sheets and can be folded and rolled up like newspapers and magazines. Moreover, as electronic paper, they will be able to update information in real time, even if it is used for video projection.
