It's unbelievable but the human body is much more tolerant of hunger than you imagine.

One of us knows that other people cannot transform sunlight into energy.

In fact, our bodies only need certain nutrients to survive, not necessarily eat. According to research by a group of scientists from Brit Lab, UK, the average person weighing about 70kg will burn about 1,690 calories / day. This happens even when he does nothing, just sits in a chair.

Even when sitting still in a chair, our bodies still burn calories.

However, we do not necessarily need to eat but only need certain nutrients to live. Food and nutrients are not one. There are people who eat a lot but are still malnourished and vice versa. In fact, it is not rare that obese patients are found to be deficient in vitamins and minerals despite absorbing huge amounts of food.

In addition, humans can really survive for a long time without food, as long as the body is supplied with adequate water.

Depending on health and body size, it is estimated that a healthy person can survive 30-40 days without eating anything.

Except for a super special case, it was the story of Angus Barbieri, a 27-year-old Scottish boy, fasting for 382 days and still living well.

People can really survive for a long time without food.

Before that " ascetic fasting journey" , Angus Barbieri weighed about 206kg. Doctors at the Dundee Royal Hospital in Scotland diagnosed he was severely obese while Barbieri wanted to reduce his ideal weight to about 80kg.

During the fasting process to reduce fat, Barbieri only takes vitamins, including potassium and sodium supplements. He was allowed to drink coffee, tea and soda water. All of these drinks are free of calories. Barbieri said he sometimes gave some sugar or milk to tea, especially the last weeks of fasting.

What surprised the doctors was that Barbieri kept living . well without eating. Every day he still goes to the hospital regularly for health checks and blood sugar to prove to the doctors that he doesn't eat anything. So, from the week turned into the last month into the year. After 382 days of "hunger strike" Barbieri was reduced to about 81kg and maintained that heavy weight for 5 consecutive years.

Before the first meal after 382 days of fasting, Barbieri announced that he had "forgotten the taste of food". He had breakfast with a boiled egg, a slice of butter bread and a cup of black coffee. Barbieri shared that the breakfast was delicious and felt full until the next day .

Fasting is an extremely popular slimming method in the 60s and 70s of the last century, even today. However, scientists and doctors have repeatedly dismissed this method as anti-scientific and can kill or leave serious damage to the health of patients. According to autopsy reports, the ill-fated people who died from fasting and hunger had a characteristic sign of those who died of starvation.

The human body always contains amazing and amazing things. However, you should never starve yourself to reduce fat but make a healthy diet recommended by experts.
