The factory is called Thanet, equipped with 100 turbine turbines and occupies an area of 35 km 2 , equivalent to 4,000 football fields. The capacity of the Thanet plant is 300 MW - enough to power 200,000 homes in a year.
The Thanet plant project is part of Britain's clean energy use plan that began with its predecessor. Of the 16 offshore wind power plants under construction, half are in the UK.
England is the ideal place for clean electricity production because it has big windy beaches. A turbine turbine in the UK is capable of producing 50% more electricity than a similar propeller in Germany.
However, Britain is a latecomer in this field, ranking 25/27 in Europe's latest ranking of clean energy use. Only 3,000 wind turbine propellers in the UK, far less than the 21,315 propellers in Germany.
The British government also expects the construction of offshore wind power plants to provide investment opportunities for British companies as well as create jobs, thereby reviving the British economy.
However, this has been questioned, when out of the 900 million pounds (1.4 billion USD) invested for Thanet project, only less than 20% flows into the pockets of British companies.
