VNPT 2007: Focus on innovation to develop!

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung awarded emulation flags to representatives of VNPT Group.

According to the report summarized by VNPT General Director Vu Tuan Hung before the conference, in 2006, VNPT achieved a total revenue of VND 38,329 billion, an increase of 14.9% compared to 2005. The newly developed country has 4 , 5 million phones, exceeding the plan by 8.76%, bringing the total number of existing subscribers to 17.86 million, reaching a density of 21 telephones per 100 people. The number of MegaVNN subscribers has grown to 151,000, an increase of 75% compared to 2006, bringing the total number of subscribers to 226,000.

Mr. Vu Tuan Hung - General Director of Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group has highlighted some highlights of VNPT in the past year such as: Signing a contract to produce and launch Vinasat satellites, expanding 02 wavelengths 10 Gb / s DWDM axis line, lifting capacity to 40 Gb / s, . According to Mr. Hung, in 2007, VNPT set a target to generate revenue of VND 42,100 billion, to pay VND 6,800 billion to the budget, up 6, 47% compared to last year, developing new 6.54 million telephone subscribers and 500,000 Mega VNN subscribers.

In order to compete, VNPT has focused on developing broadband services and value-added services such as IPTV, Wimax, SMS on fixed network, Internet phone / SIP phone, international telephone via Internet, service of the enemy's position, integrating SIM utilities, 3G services of mobile networks . At the same time, VNPT implemented the roadmap to adjust telecommunications services according to a master plan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Do Trung Ta - Minister of Post and Telematics emphasized: " In 2006, VNPT continued to play the role of" big brother ", a key enterprise with the largest contributions (to submit to the state budget 6.400 billion VND, while the whole industry paid 7,000 billion VND) and most importantly (accounting for 18/25 million telephone subscribers of the whole country) ".

In the intimate atmosphere, the Minister also pointed out to VNPT 8 points to be noted, in order to maintain the role of a leading enterprise of the country in the context of current integration:

- First , organizational innovation is associated with telecommunications development, taking mobile phone development as a growth solution for other telecommunications services.

- Second , taking advantage of existing network infrastructure to focus on developing convergence, wideband and incremental services.

- Third , VNPT needs to recognize its reputation as an invaluable source, and a brand identity system of businesses with consumers.

- Fourthly , grasping new technology, ensuring service quality is the internal force needed to compete.

- Fifth , besides telecommunications, VNPT also has to develop a multi-functional and multi-service postal industry and focus on service speed.

- Sixth , the management needs to be "dynamic", always flexible, often adjusted to suit new development circumstances.

- Seventh , existence of VNPT now needs to be overcome immediately without lack of "goods" to sell to customers because there is still a waiting list for telephone registration and ADSL subscription. However, if due to lack of goods, but impatient, lack of quality sales is a more serious defect.

- Eighth , in the global competitive trend and Vietnam has just entered the WTO, the Group needs to rely on its strengths as infrastructure and people to grow faster, more sensitive and even more.

The Minister also said that the target that VNPT should aim for in 2007 is speed. This goal should apply to all services: telecommunications, postal, IT and communications industries.
