New frog species are found in the fertile valley area near the river Magdalena, in the tropical forests of Colombia.

According to the Humboldt Institute of the Colombian Ministry of the Environment, Scinax Caprarius is a protected habitat amphibian, so it is outside the list of threatened species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). . However, the institute advises scientists to continuously monitor the existence and development of Scinax Caprarius in order to maintain the stability of the habitat and the frog's survivability before the effects of human activities.

In the IUCN Red List, out of 817 amphibian species recorded in Colombia, 56 species are in critical condition, 89 species are in danger of extinction and 85 species are vulnerable.
