Intel chip reduced its price by only half

Intel has decided to cut 50% of the cost of a series of desktop chip models to cope with the latest price cut from rival AMD.

According to the new price list posted on its website, the price of Pentium D 960 processor, 3.6 GHz speed has dropped from 530 USD in early June to only 316 USD, which means a drop of more than 40%.

In addition, some models that support hyper-threading technology in the Intel Pentium 4 family are also located in this discount area. The 3.6 GHz version dropped 54% to $ 183, while the 3.2 GHz model dropped a 61% drop to $ 84. The cheapest is the 3 GHz version, down 58% to 74 USD.

Some laptop chips also dropped slightly, but there were no more than 1% cases. Left, the price of server chips and workstations has not changed.

The price war

Product cost is the latest weapon in the battle between Intel and AMD to scramble for market share in the processor market.
