After the first remote sensing satellite VNREDSAT-1, Vietnam is promoting the 2nd Remote Sensing Satellite Project VNREDSAT-1B, information from the Academy of Science and Technology (Institute of Science and Technology) said.
Accordingly, the Institute of Science and Technology has recently decided to select a joint venture of Spacebel + AMOS Joint Stock Company and important subcontractor QinetiQ - Belgium for the package of designing, manufacturing and launching satellites under the Small Satellite Project VNREDSAT- 1B .

From the 27th to the 31st of May 2013, the Small Satellite Project Management Unit of the Institute of Science and Technology has had negotiations for the first round contract with Spacebel + AMOS and important subcontractor QinetiQ (hereinafter referred to as Belgian joint venture) for package No. 01 - package of designing, manufacturing and launching VNREDSAT-1B satellite.
At the negotiation, the two sides discussed to reach agreement on the objectives and scope of the contract, the form of the contract, the work requirements, the implementation of the contract, the implementation schedule, the issues. launch and insurance coverage, risk insurance during contract implementation, system warranty and technical support after handover, training and technology transfer .
Mr. Bui Trong Tuyen, Head of Small Satellite Project Management said: Satellite VNREDSAT-1B is the next small Earth observation satellite of Vietnam using super universal technology. It is expected that the volume is about 130kg, size 865x679x654mm, inherited from the PROBA satellite frame developed by the European Space Agency (ESA).
VNREDSAT-1B satellite will provide simultaneous full-color images (PAN) and dozens of spectrum channels with a spectrum resolution of nm 10nm (called HS spectral channels). Since then, the VNREDSAT-1B satellite will provide super spectral data to complement the spectral information for remote sensing image data of VNREDSat-1 satellite.
With VNREDSAT-1B, Vietnam will have a remote sensing database system with spatial resolution as well as high spectral resolution which is very useful in the management of natural resources and environmental monitoring.
Previously, on May 7, Vietnam successfully launched the first orbit of VNREDSAT-1 satellite remote sensing. Currently, VNREDSAT-1 remains stable.
- Simulation of the journey of Vietnam remote sensing satellite
- VNREDSAT-1 will be launched in the morning of May 7
- Vietnam's first remote sensing satellite is about to enter the universe
- Defer launch of VNREDSat-1 satellite because of rain
- Why doesn't Vietnam have satellite remote sensing?
- VNREDSat-1 satellite leaves the launch pad successfully
