Global finals of the ACM / ICPC programming contest: Vietnam temporarily ranked 48/88

According to Mr. Nguyen Long - General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Informatics, currently in Japan, on the morning of March 15, starting at 8:15, Chicken Team of Hanoi University of Technology compared with other teams. Best from 88 prestigious universities in the world in the ACM / ICPC Global Finals in Tokyo, Japan.

On March 12 and 13, teams from 6 continents were present to prepare for the Global Final. The organizers arranged all activities of 246 students and more than 100 coaches and nearly 600 experts and representatives from all countries staying at Tokyo Hilton Bay Hotel.

The opening ceremony was solemnly held on the morning of March 14, right after the opening ceremony of 88 teams to receive and test the machine, preparing references submitted before 1 day of examination.

At 8:15 am, the teams entered the competition position and simultaneously removed the exam questions, each team was assigned 1 table, 3 seats and 1 standard PC connected to the network, the exam questions included 10 items in the order of AJ, including programming lessons. According to the application algorithms for many different practical fields. In the first 30 minutes, there were 2 teams that solved 1 lesson (Warsaw) and MIT (USA). Then there is a zero-tolerance dispute according to the number of submissions and correct answers.

88 teams divided into 3 different chasing teams. In the first place with big names like Warsaw University, Petecbau Blue University, MIT, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University vying for the number of articles solved 5-7 songs. The middle is the team competing for the number of articles from 3-5, including Vietnam. The remaining teams are the teams with 0 to 2 numbers.

The continuous ranking according to the number of solutions is changed and publicly transmitted in the Final Examination Zone and 30 seconds are updated once on the Internet at: http://icpc.baylor.edu/icpc/Finals/Scoreboard/ default.htm. 1 hour before the end of the hour (12:15 am on March 15) all results are kept confidential and only announced during the Closing Ceremony and awarded at 17:00.

At the time of submission, the results showed that there were only 2 teams to win 7/10 lessons and calculated from time to time: Wasava University, Tsinghua University (Beijing), some solutions were 5-6 lessons include MIT, Shanghai Traffic University and some Russian schools . Chinese, Korean and Japanese schools are in high rankings with 4-5 solved papers (ranking 12-20). Remarkably, there are still 4 teams still unable to solve any problem.

Chicken Vietnam team entered the game at a slow speed, probably because Vietnamese students have not prepared English well, and at the end of 2 hours Chicken team solved 2 lessons and 3 lessons in the 3rd language. The temporary ranking is at 48. At the time of stopping the announcement of online results, the Vietnamese team in the regional arrangement is still temporarily leading on ASEAN teams such as Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong . A special thing, Team Chicken submit lesson J 7 times, lesson J and 2 other cards (E and H) are 3 cards that no team can solve. Maybe the Chicken team has not chosen the appropriate strategy when it is "hard" to 3 hours for one of the hardest songs in the Final round.

The ceremony to announce the 31st ACM / ICPC Championship will start from 17:00 today, the ranking will be public on the network immediately after its announcement. The Vietnamese team is temporarily in the 48/88 rank with 3 full prizes.
